Secually Transmitted Infections
Sexually transmitted diseases, also known as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are diseases that are transmitted from one person to another through sexual contact, whether vaginal, oral, or anal, without protection. Genital areas are ideal for the growth of bacteria and yeast due to the warm and moist environment.
Some of these infections can be transmitted through sexual contact but are not classified as STIs, such as Gardnerella or Candida. Even diseases like the flu or pharyngitis can be transmitted during sexual acts, but they are not classified as STIs.
