Daanyaal Ali, Muaz Nawaz and Chirag Shah, students of the Isaac Newton Academy of the United Kingdom have invented a condom that changes color if it detects any sexually transmitted disease.
This new condom has been baptized as S.T. Eye and is created with molecules capable of identifying diseases. The condom will change color depending on the type of bacteria being treated. This will turn green if there was contact with chlamydia; yellow for herpes, blue for syphilis and purple for the human papillomavirus.
Young people explain that the goal of this contraceptive method is that you can know in a simple way that you have a sexual illness and thus be able to start treatment on time. “We created the ST EYE as a new way to detect sexually transmitted diseases and thus help the next generations, we wanted to create something that would make people safer and take immediate action in the privacy of their homes without fear of frightening procedures that are done in doctors’ offices, “says one of its creators.
